NGB / R&D

Engineering new
possibilities.

We research and develop technologies that turn complex resources into accessible energy. Extending productive field life, advancing modular solutions and building engineering capabilities in Ukraine.

From resources
to affordable energy.

We believe Ukraine’s energy resilience starts with the ability to turn its own resources into affordable energy. Rising energy costs, depleting fields and the vulnerability of centralised infrastructure call for new engineering approaches.

Productive field life

Every field needs solutions throughout its lifecycle. In late-life operations, particular value lies in technologies that can extend economically viable production, make fuller use of subsurface potential and retain the value of existing infrastructure. This development must be grounded in safety, control of environmental impacts and responsible decommissioning.

Making complex resources viable

We see engineering’s role as overcoming the barriers between an available resource and its economically viable development. Unconventional accumulations require appropriate technological approaches. Discovered resources whose commercial development remains contingent require substantiated solutions that bring together geology, technology, infrastructure and economics.

Decentralised energy

We support decentralised energy: compact modular solutions, phased investment and the ability to serve an individual well, a small field and a local consumer. Access to technology for independent operators, open competition and reduced dependence on monopolies should guide the industry’s development.

TECHNOLOGICAL SELF-RELIANCE

Knowledge. Design.
Manufacturing in Ukraine.

Our technology doctrine is built on self-reliance: our own knowledge, calculations and engineering designs, and the ability to manufacture, maintain and improve critical equipment in Ukraine. Collaboration with leading international teams should strengthen these capabilities, deepen localisation and reduce critical dependence on imported technology.

RESEARCH DIRECTION / COMPRESSION SYSTEMS

Compact multistage axial gas compressor.

Research and engineering evaluation

NGB is developing a research direction in compact compression systems for downhole applications, exploring technical solutions for low-pressure gas production.

Our goal is to establish a calculation-based design for one compressor module, matched to the well’s available diameter and operating conditions.

01

Analysis.

Patent analysis, CFD solver selection and rotor–stator stage modelling. Ansys CFX and alternative tools are under consideration.

02

Design.

Preparation of 3D geometry and STEP models. Evaluation of high-speed drives, bearings and components from European and Asian manufacturers.

03

Manufacturing.

Evaluation of metal additive manufacturing for complex Inconel 718 nickel-alloy parts, with requirements for subsequent production and testing.

OUR MEASURE OF VALUE

An idea must prove
its value.

For us, the value of R&D is measured by practical results: longer productive field life, economically accessible complex resources and greater freedom of engineering choice. Every idea must progress from calculation and testing to demonstrated value.

  1. SubstantiateThe resource, technical constraints and solution economics.
  2. Calculate and testModelling, design and verification of working hypotheses.
  3. Demonstrate valueTechnical performance and practical benefit for the operator.

From an operational challenge to a research brief.

Let’s discuss the available data, technical constraints and criteria for assessing the value of a new solution.
